Abstract:
Grading and more recently grade inflation have been of major concern for most educators. This paper begins by presenting the rationale and methods instructors typically use to determine student grades and concludes with a proposal for an alternative grading system. The alternate grading system proposes a more accurate method of reflecting the quality and quantity of student learning according to instructor and course expectations.
